TOOLS

auriculotherapy

The Auriculotherapy model of healing uses the ear to treat the entire body.  As per  auriculotherapy theory, hundreds of points are located on the ear that can be stimulated via numerous methods, to positively affect the body including reduction of pain, treating addictions, weight loss, high-blood pressure fertility, insomnia and more.

The Results are in..

Various scientific studies have proven that auriculotherapy can be an effective, powerful way to help you lose weight!

  • A 2011 study concluded that “Auricular acupressure is thus a reasonable option in the treatment of overweight and obesity in young adults.” -Am J Chin Med. 2011;39(3):433-40.

  • A 2010 study concluded that “auricular acupressure employing vaccaria seeds can decrease body mass index (BMI)” -Am J Chin Med. 2010;38(4):675-82.

  • A 2009 study concluded that “Auricular acupuncture may have potential benefit on obesity-related hormone peptides.” -J Womens Health (Larchmt). 2009 Jun;18(6):813-8. doi: 10.1089/jwh.2008.1005.

There are many ways to stimulate Acupuncture points for healing. As part of my treatment protocols, I can use various methods to stimulate points including an FDA cleared medical device and adjunct tools such as acupressure, gem therapy, Tei-shin  and ear seeds.

acupuncture

As one of the most powerful and oldest holistic medicines to date --clinical evidence has shown that the exceptional restorative healing benefits of Acupuncture are usually achieved in a series of treatments.

Most conditions seen today require more than one Acupuncture session to achieve optimal results. We follow the method used in Chinese hospitals where a course of treatment (single sessions administered in a short period of time) are used for the most successful outcomes.

A.N.N.AACUPUNCTURE

If you consider yourself  “needle shy” or sensitive, I am pleased to share that  I offer a signature Acupuncture whole body style of treatment, the A.N.N.A™ (Advanced Non- Needle Acupuncture) treatment, that uses a custom combination of traditional non-invasive tools and the most advanced and effective acupuncture technology,  that provides the healing benefits of Acupuncture without causing you a single “ouch.”

clinical aromatherapy

The definition of aromatherapy is therapy using scent-- of which the scent of essential oils is the only scent used.  The therapeutic use of essential oils in holistic healing has been well documented over thousands of years.  Aromatherapy can also be considered the most concentrated form of herbal medicine, therefore it is extremely important to understand the complexity and potential side-effects of improper use.

Clinical aromatherapy is the systematic use of essential oils in the treatment of medical conditions. Please note: I do not diagnose medical conditions.

I only use organic, all natural or wild-crafted 100% pure essential oils  to promote  physical, emotional and mental well-being.

Pure essential oils have anti-fungal, anti-bacterial properties that can be extremely beneficial to promote respiratory health as well as being used topically to relieve muscular aches and pains when used in conjunction with massage.

In addition,I use the healing benefits of aromatherapy combined with other healing modalities such as massage therapy, to accelerate healing and promote over-all wellness.

clinical nutrition

three of the top killers in the united states and abroad are associated with nutrition. taking this into account makes nutrition in my approach to healing, a crucial part of both my approach to preventative medicine and developing an integrative health treatment plan.

my approach to nutrition counseling goes beyond just counting calories. it combines both western and eastern approaches to nutritional therapy and its ability to support your well-being. this can include a personalized prescription including whole food nutrients, medical foods or other pharmaceutical-grade supplements, that can support your specific health condition.

while working together, we will cover how to eat with the seasons, discover your eating ‘type’ and how to integrate these findings into your lifestyle to support your optimum health.

cupping therapy

Cupping is a traditional form of therapy used in Chinese medicine to remove stagnation and promote healing and to stop pain. it can be recommended as an adjunct treatment for certain internal medicine conditions such as asthma, menstrual disorders and gastrointestinal complaints.

although thousands of year old, cupping therapy has received recent acclaim in media outlets as its treatment markings have been photographed on celebrities and world-class athletes. despite its markings on the skin, cupping therapy is completely Painless. these markings disappear completely within a few days and in fact, most patients describe the treatment as extremely relaxing and often fall asleep during treatment.

HERBAL MEDICINE

Chinese herbal therapy is actually the largest branch of chinese medicine and can be one of the most effective ways to treat internal medicine conditions. it can also be effective for treating various women's health conditions such as menstrual and gastrointestinal disorders.

usually combining herbal medicine with any other holistic treatment can dramatically decrease healing time. so depending on the case, i usually recommend including herbal medicine as part of the treatment plan for safe and effective results.

I only prescribe clinically-tested herbal medicine formulas that have been found to be free of pesticides and other contaminants. and when making a custom formula prescription, the same criteria stands for each individual herb used.

Tuina (chinese medical MASSAGe)

this advanced (but ancient) healing massage method is a treatment that includes Acupressure and can be easily combined with Cupping and external herbal therapy for fast, effective healing relief of conditions such as:

  • Acute or chronic injuries such as back or neck pain

  • Post-rehabilitation conditions

  • Pre/post natal care

one of the benefits of tuina massage is that it does not require you to fully undress, and in most cases can be done with clothes on! the use of lotions typically used in swedish or other massage treatment styles is seldom if at all used. it is more common to use tinctures and salves that are distributed on the body only in the local area that is being treated.

EVIDENCED-INFORMED HOLISTIC TESTING

evidenced-based acupuncture DIAGNOSTIC testing

Wondering if Acupuncture can really help you? Wish there was a way you could "see" how the meridians (the pathways of the acupuncture points ) really show your health status? Thankfully, the answer to those questions is yes! In my office I use Acugraph Meridian Imaging, advanced technology allowing you the patient to  now "see the Qi" of your body. You can consider it a "lab Report" for your Qi and acupuncture meridians.

and for small children that can't really express their symptoms, this can be one of the best tools to discover the root cause of an imbalance. This advanced test is included as part of all initial treatment exams.

ADDITIONAL MIND-BODY THERAPIES

integrative hypnosis

Integrative Hypnosis can be successful in addressing:

  • fear and phobias

  • emotional traumas

  • smoke cessation
